100 mbps in just 700 rs/month plus a 4K TV freeeee..and more

The much-awaited Reliance Jio home broadband services have been detailed at the 42nd Annual General Meeting (Post-IPO) of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL). Jio Fiber will roll out on September 05 on a commercial basis across India. This is also the third anniversary of Jio services in India. The company confirms that tariff packages will start at Rs 700 per month, with speeds ranging between 100Mbps and 1Gbps depending on the tariff plans.

Jio Fiber pricing, welcome offer

The Jio Fiber plans will be priced between Rs. 700 and Rs. 10,000 per month to meet the diverse demands of consumers, the executive said.

To attract new customers, a Jio Fiber Welcome Offer will be available. Reliance Jiois also set to offer an HD LED TV or 4K TV alongside a 4K set-top box for customers opting for an annual plan called Jio Forever Plan. However, details about the plan are yet to be revealed.

Jio Home Phone

Aside from the commercial launch of Jio Fiber, Ambani at the AGM detailed Jio Home Phone that will be the fixed-line service available alongside high-speed broadband service to enable international calling with the “lowest fixed-line rates”. Existing Jio GigaFiber and new Jio Fiber customers would be able to get voice calling support through the new service. Further, the default tariffs of Jio Home Phone are touted to be one-fifth to one-tenth of existing industry tariffs. Customers will also get a dedicated unlimited international calling pack at Rs. 500 per month to make calls in the US and Canada.

Jio Postpaid Plus

In addition to broadband and fixed-line access, Jio Fiber customers will get access to Jio Postpaid Plus plans, which include a priority SIM-setup service at home. Jio Postpaid Plus plans are said to provide a “platinum-grade” experience, and will also include “unprecedented Family plans”, affordable international roaming, and phone upgrades at “preferential rates”. Details about the tariffs under the Jio Postpaid Plus service will be available on September 5.

Jio Set-Top Box with gaming support

Jio Set-Top Box that will be available to Jio Fiber customers for accessing television services is touted to deliver “console-like” gaming experiences. Reliance Jio Directors Akash Ambani and Isha Ambani demonstrated major gaming capabilities of the Jio Set-Top Box during the AGM.

“This will be at par with the leading gaming platforms globally,” asserted Akash Ambani, who briefly played FIFA 19 on stage to emphasise on multiplayer support on the Jio Set-Top Box. The device is also claimed to support “almost all gaming controllers” and can work using a virtual controller through a smartphone. Also, it is said to have built-in graphics.

The Jio Set-Top Box is touted to enable gameplay in 4K and offer a “zero-latency gaming experience” through Jio Fiber network. Moreover, Reliance Jio is working with leading game publishers, including Gameloft, Tencent, and Microsoft.

Jio MR and HoloBoard MR headset

Aside from showcasing some gaming capabilities, Directors Akash Ambani and Isha Ambani at the AGM revealed Reliance Jio’s developments towards the growing world of mixed reality (MR). The company has invested in startup Tesseract to bring MR experiences through the Jio Fiber network. The executives majorly showcased three use cases, namely shopping, education, and entertainment. The Jio Cinema app that would come preloaded on the Jio Set-Top Box was also shown to offer theatre-like experiences on MR headsets.

Reliance Jio in collaboration with Tesseract has also developed the Jio HoloBoard as its native MR headset. It is touted to be available for purchase in the coming future with an “extremely affordable price”.

Bundled OTT apps subscription and Jio First-Day-First-Show service

Jio Fiber customers are set to receive bundled subscriptions to “most leading premium OTT applications”, Mukesh Ambani announced at the AGM. The company is also set to bring a concept of offering new movies, called Jio First-Day-First-Show.

“Premium Jio Fiber customers will be able to watch movies in their living rooms the same day these movies released in theatres,” said Ambani during his presentation.

Reliance Jio is set to launch the Jio First-Day-First-Show service in the middle of 2020.

Thus goes the proud, and loud, declaration on Jio’s website. Even before the service has been launched, and the first subscriber enrolled, Reliance Jio is clear about its intention regarding its high-speed broadband service JioFiber—it wants it to be the market leader.

Though the services are scheduled to be launched only on August 15, it is already the Next Big Thing in the Indian telecom and broadband market. No one is taking it lightly.

Soon after the announcement of JioFiber earlier this month, shares of incumbent broadband service providers, like Den Networks and Siti Cable, tanked significantly, some by as much as 18-20 per cent.

Naturally, all players are wary of JioFiber’s possible impact on the market. Obviously, this is because of what Jio Telecom’s effect on the voice and telecom market. Soon after its launch in September 2016, Reliance Jio Telecom disrupted the entire telecom and voice market in India by giving lifetime free voice services, coupled with dirt-cheap high speed 4G data. Jio’s has been one of the fastest growth stories across the world. In just 22 months, the company has amassed 215 million subscribers—roughly 20 per cent of the voice market. And it is growing at a significant pace.

Incumbent players and analysts alike expect JioFiber to be as big a game changer as was its telecom sibling. Beyond being wary, some firms are forced into aggression and are either preparing their war chest to fight the onslaught or have started coming up with sugar-coated offers to retain or acquire customers.

According to the company, the JioFiber broadband service will have an optical fibre backbone and will offer speeds of 100 mbps going up to 1 gigabyte, a standard so far achieved only by big global operators. JioFiber’s drive is reflected in Isha Ambani’s assertion during the announcement of the service. “Gone are the days of Mbps, now it will be all about Gbps,” she said.

The JioFiber broadband service would be available in 1,100 cities to start with, when fibre broadband connectivity will be given to individual homes, merchants and small and medium enterprises. The service will use the FTTH (fibre to the home) technology, under which the fibre directly reaches a user’s home, as against the current practice of last mile access by copper.

However, Reliance Jio will not be the first operator to use the FTTH broadband technology. At present, market leader and state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) also offers broadband services using FTTH in Calcutta and Chennai. Obviously, JioFiber’s service will start with the advantage of going to many more cities at high speed. Further, being on a larger scale and more aggressive in its pricing and bundled offers, it is expected to be more disruptive, especially for home broadband users. JioFiber’s pilots in several cities have had quite a successful run.

Currently, BSNL has the largest exposure among wired home broadband users and many of them are on BSNL’s optical fibre network. However, the lines are often not robust and there have been complaints of bad service and connectivity issues.

As in Jio Telecom, JioFiber is expected to play aggressively on price and offer data speeds of 100 mbps, at least initially, at an attractive price and also offer free data, much the same way it did with voice.

Importantly, and most worryingly for its competitors, Jio will now be present in all the segments of the telcom-data-TV ecosystem and will aim for a stranglehold over customers. According to the company, JioFiber will come with JioGigaTV, which will be fed by the broadband service and operate through a set top box that will be bundled with the broadband service for a cost. This will complete the voice, data and TV triple play for the company. JioFiber will also offer smart home technology and TV calling. Add to that services like video conferencing and gaming and you have a complete bouquet of offerings.

Says Raja Lahiri, partner, Grant Thornton India LLP, “Key today is ‘data’ for communication and fundamentally, flow of data is through the ‘fibre’—one could say the container/pipe to carry the data. Hence, the strategy looks like is to first acquire the consumer through telephony and content and then you bring in the fibre. This is a full-blown value chain integrated offering and an integrated player will clearly have competitive advantage. This is like a backward integration and one could consider this causing disruption in the market and impact existing players.”

What other players dread is also the fact that after its August launch, JioFiber will be able to scale up rapidly at a fast pace as it has already laid optical fibre across many cities. Once it connects the last mile to users’ homes, the connections can go live. And that is not a very difficult or time-consuming job. In fact, analysts feel, Jio can even piggyback on existing last mile access operators and small, regional companies and connect its backbone to offer services to homes.

However, despite its advantages, it may not be a cakewalk for JioFiber, as the Indian market throws up unique challenges. Laying fibre across the country could be a big challenge, as is reaching people’s homes, especially in an era of community living where entry permissions are difficult to get. “Telcos are fretting over Jio’s voice offering. Now, with JioFiber plans, they will have even more to worry. But this consolidation, post the coming of JioFiber, will take much longer. To deploy pervasive fibre is not a trivial task. Among them, right of way is a big challenge. Costs are also very high, and permissions are required from multiple agencies. It can reportedly cost over Rs 1 crore plus per km to dig and put fibre in Lutyens Delhi,” says Mahesh Uppal, director at telecom consultancy Comfirst.

Having said that, he still feels that Jio is best placed to do this, given their clout and deep pockets. “Jio has disrupted the voice market and is doing much the same in broadband. But one must remember that Jio is still the second, not primary, connection for most people,” Uppal says. And that is the model JioFiber may start with in broadband as well.

Panic reactions have already started among incumbent players. Apparently, Airtel has slashed broadband tariffs and is even offering discounts. BSNL has introduced new low-priced plans to retain customers and is desperately working on acquiring new ones. It has also increased the free usage limit on many of its existing plans. Other firms have also been forced to relook at their offerings to stay afloat against JioFiber’s war cry. Once Jio starts combining its 4G services with its JioFiber broadband, it would have enough in its arsenal to take on both voice and data telecom players, as well as broadband operators with one big hit. Many existing players will find it difficult to survive.

Naturally, there is a lot of anticipation among users for JioFiber. Having tasted incredibly great deals with Jio telecom’s free voice and cheap data services, Indian users are anticipating similar offers for its broadband service. And JioFiber may oblige, for it aims to garner subscribers in this fiendishly competitive telecom and broadband landscape. When battle is joined, it will be interesting. Come August 15, JioFiber may introduce Indians to a new broadband freedom.

Broadly Speaking…

  • JioFiber expected to disrupt wired broadband market, like Jio Telecom disrupted the voice sector with free voice for life
  • JioFiber will be launched on August 15 and will start services in 1,100 cities, which is larger than any other operator
  • Jio has laid optical fibre in many cities
  • In expectation, Airtel, BSNL have reworked their tariffs, introduced new offers
  • It will offer JioGiga TV and complete triple play of voice, data and TV

370- India’s ticket to kashmir

A flurry of developments in Kashmir this week has triggered panic and rumours among leaders and locals.

Centre’s move to revoke Article 370 will go down as one of the most significant initiatives to change a provision in our constitution- that was considered sacrosanct for a very long time. Until today, Article 370 was considered to be the very thread that kept Jammu & Kashmir tied to India. But this was changed to some extent as Home Minister Amit Shah read out a Presidential notification on the future of J&K and moved a proposal to repeal Article 370.
Shah, read out a presidential notification that stated the decision to scrap the contentious Article 370 and to bifurcate the state into two Union territories – Jammu and Kashmir, which will have a legislature, and Ladakh, which will be without a legislature.
Giving a speech amid uproar by opposition members, he said,”I am presenting the resolution to revoke Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir except the first clause 370 (1).”
Home Minister Amit Shah in a statement last week had pointed that Article 370 was a ‘temporary provision’. Here’s why Article 370 is such a contentious issue at this moment.

What is Article 370?
Article 370 of the Indian Constitution is a ‘temporary provision’ which grants special autonomous status to Jammu & Kashmir. Under Part XXI of the Constitution of India, which deals with “Temporary, Transitional and Special provisions”, the state of Jammu & Kashmir has been accorded special status under Article 370. All the provisions of the Constitution which are applicable to other states are not applicable to J&K. For example, till 1965, J&K had a Sadr-e-Riyasat for governor and prime minister in place of chief minister.

History of Article 370
The provision was drafted in 1947 by Sheikh Abdullah, who had by then been appointed prime minister of Jammu & Kashmir by Maharaja Hari Singh and Jawahar Lal Nehru. Sheikh Abdullah had argued that Article 370 should not be placed under temporary provisions of the Constitution. He wanted ‘iron clad autonomy’ for the state, which center did not comply with.

Article 35A scrapped

With the removal of Article 370, Article 35A will be also scrapped. Now, people from other states may also buy or purchase land and settle there.

Bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir
As per the statement released by Home Minister Amit Shah, Jammu and Kashmir will be “reorganized” and will no longer be a state. Ladakh will be a Union Territory without an assembly and Jammu and Kashmir will be a Union Territory with an assembly, under recommendation. There will be two Lieutenant Governors when this provision will come into the force.

J&K becomes UT

Jammu & Kashmir has become a Union Territory now and union laws would apply in this area. According to the notification released by government of India, “Keeping in view the prevailing internal security situation, fuelled by cross-border terrorism in the existing state of Jammu & Kashmir, a separate Union Territory is being created.”

Ladakh becomes UT

The Ladakh region has given the status of a Union Territory (UT), without legislature. “The Ladakh division has a large area but is sparsely populated with very difficult terrain. There has been a long-pending demand of people of Ladakh to give it a Union Territory status to enable them to realise their aspiration”, said a notification released by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

We hope Kashmir issue will come under control.

Mind blowing facts of chandrayan-2

In yet another lunar mission, India launches Chandrayaan-2, which will be vested with the task of exploring the darker side of the moon. Chandrayaan-2 is set to be launched on board the GSLV MK III from the Satish Dhawan Space Center located at Sriharikota, the flagship spaceport of India on July 15. Here are some unknown and interesting facts about Chandrayaan-2.Explore the southern polar region of the moon

The sole objective of Chandrayaan is to explore the south-polar region of the moon, which has not been charted till date. The mission Chandrayaan-2 is expected to increase our understanding of the earth’s sole natural satellite. The discoveries that are possible through this mission is expected to benefit India in particular and the humanity at large.

Advantages of sending Chandrayaan-2 to the moon

Moon is the nearest space object to the earth. Moon can be used something like attest bed for the space launch and the knowledge gained out of Chandrayaan-2 mission can give enough insights on the deep-space missions India can attempt in the future to distant spatial bodies.

Where it will land

Chandrayaan-2 will try to soft-land the rover Pragyan and lander Vikram in a high plain region of the moon located in between two craters called as Manzinus C and Simpelius N at a latitude of 70 degrees south.

Some special facts about Chandrayan-2

Chandrayaan-2 is the first ever space mission by any country to explore the south pole of the moon. Chandrayaan-2 is fully powered by home-grown technology.

What the mission intends to do

The mission forming part of Chandrayaan-2 will help the country and the humanity accumulate a better understanding of how the moon originated and evolved. The mission will perform some topographical studies in a detailed manner in addition to some mineralogical analysis, and a line of other kinds of experiments on the moon’s surface. Possibly, we could gain some valuable inputs on the kind of rocks found on the moon and the presence of water molecules in the moon’s surface.

What is the implication of the mission for ISRO

This mission will help the ISRO surpass the aspirations among the international community. The mission can also inspire a set of future scientists, explorers and engineers of extraordinary skills and talents. The entire mission will succeed in expanding India’s space footprint.

Timeline of the mission

Lander Vikram is scheduled to land on the South Pole of the moon on September 6, 2019. Following this, Rover will start doing some experiments on the moon’s surface for a period of 14 earth days or what is known as one lunar day. The mission of Orbiter will extend for a period of one year.

Made in India

GSLV MK III is the most powerful launcher India will be using for the mission Chandrayaan-2. This launcher is fully designed and manufactured in India.

Facts about the launch

Chandrayaan-2 becomes the second lunar mission of India. Once the launch becomes successful, India will become the fourth country on the earth to achieve soft landing on the moon.

The success of modi

Modi will be judged on his government’s performance. Here’s how the report card reads.

Most pollsters predict a hung Parliament in 2019. But if a week is a long time in politics, the 12 weeks that remain before the 2019 general election give Prime Minister Narendra Modi time to recover lost ground.

Modi will be judged on his government’s five year performance. How does his report card read? Underwhelming. Consider first, though the achievements. Ten stand out.

The success

Ayushman Bharat: The health insurance scheme launched on September 23, 2018, has already benefited 10 lakh poor patients and could be an electoral game-changer. More than 500 million Indians who could not afford medical treatment for non-communicable illnesses like cancer and heart disease now have access to free healthcare.

The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code: The legislation, enacted in December 2016, is the silver bullet to tackle India’s chronic problem of non-performing assets. Banks have begun to recover debts that had seemingly turned irretrievably bad. “Phone banking” has ground to a halt.

Rural electrification: The Modi government’s push to provide last-mile connectivity to hard-to-access rural clusters has been fairly successful. However, several villages cited as connected to the electrical grid still have households without power. Part of the problem is that some villages lie in areas controlled by Naxalites while in others the terrain makes access difficult.

Free LPG cylinders: Under the Ujjwala Yojana scheme, women in villages now have access to cooking gas. This has both health and economic benefits. Over 60 million free LPG connections have been given with nearly 50 per cent going to SC/ST households.

Sanitation: The Swachh Bharat Mission has built toilets at an unprecedented pace. Since October 2014, over 92 million toilets have been constructed, covering nearly 500 million households in one of the world’s largest operations of its kind. Cultural habits, however, mean that open-air defecation remains endemic. Many newly-built toilets lack sewage facilities; others are being used as storage rooms. Nonetheless, a beginning has been made.

Digital transfer of subsidies: This has cut out most (though not all) middlemen who routinely siphoned off large chunks of benefits due to the poor. Rajiv Gandhi, the then Prime Minister, had famously said in December 1985, while addressing the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Congress, that only 15 paise out of every rupee in subsidies reaches the poor. With digitised transfers that figure has probably risen to 75 paise.

However, lack of Internet connectivity in rural areas, combined with limited digital literacy among farmers and labourers, often leave them at the mercy of local officials to access their money electronically.

Infrastructure: There has been a steep rise in building roads, highways and metro networks as well as housing for the poor. These are long-term initiatives but the benefits are already visible. According to fact-checking sites, 12km of highways were constructed in 2013-14. This pace more than doubled to 27km per day in 2017-18. In Mumbai alone, coastal roads, a new airport and a large metro network could transform public transport in India’s richest city that has long been infrastructure-poor.

Strong basics

Foreign policy: The government has repaired relations with China, the Maldives and Sri Lanka, built economic and geopolitical bridges to east Asia and west Asia and strengthened the strategic partnership with the US.

GST: The implementation of the goods and services tax was chaotic and its structure needlessly complex. Its benefits, though, are beginning to seep through the economy. Revenue is lower than expected but the removal of octroi, for example, has greatly helped the logistics and transport industries. The absence of state boundary checks means truckers save up to 30 per cent in fuel and time, raising productivity with quicker turnarounds.

All the PM’s men

Boosting India’s space programme: ISRO has proved that putting scientists and technocrats rather than bureaucrats in charge of key organisations pays dividends. The success of ISRO also highlights the government’s lacunae in other areas of institution building.

Failures of the government across domains have taken some of the sheen off its concrete achievements. The Centre has let key institutions wither. A Lok Pal has not been appointed. The Central Bureau of Investigation and the Reserve Bank of Inadia have lacked strong, consistent leadership. A talent deficit is evident at all levels: the Cabinet, academic institutions and statutory bodies.

Tax laws lack certitude. The bureaucracy, in the defence and finance ministries in particular, has not distinguished itself. The Prime Minister’s Office maintains a sphinx-like silence on key issues, allowing disinformation full play.

Modi is India’s best election campaigner and executor of important developmental schemes. But as Prime Minister, you need to go beyond that and nurture talent.

The most successful leaders surround themselves with people smarter than themselves.

THE FATHER- The guy who never expressed his love towards the family but still sacrifices his little happiness for the family. He loves us 3000 times but never shows . The best cook in the world , but never cooks.

THE MOTHER- A good mother a bit emotional , dangerous when angry . Loves to hear about the successes of his children . But gets angry if the children fails to accomplish .

THE BOY- I am that boy . You will get to know about me in next entries .

This story does not have any action sequense . I will elaborately describe my childhood .

The story will revolves around these characters . There are some moments which no body expects .

Indians love to bitch about their neighbours .

So see you in the next chapter of my life .

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
